An Iranian student activist and prisoner of conscience
remain in solitary confinement after 37 days in jail with interrogation
completed. Charges against a Colombian academic arrested two yeas ago accused
ties with leftist guerrillas, were dropped and he was released. A student pilot
in Iran jailed for a year on Face book activities, including interviews with
international media and the release of political activity. A constitutional law
scholar in China went missing, believed arrested in connection with a high
number of independent candidates running in local elections.

Ashcan Arabian, an Iranian student activist and prisoner of conscience, remain in solitary confinement, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran reported on 13 June.

The prosecutor's office and the Ministry Intelligence refused to discuss the matter legal.
Although he has recently been authorized to meet his parents supervised security, he was unable to discuss his case with them. He was in a relatively good spirits and asked not to worry his family.
Since 2009, Arabian were arrested and several times arrested for his student and political activities.
In June 2009 he was sentenced to six months in jail for disrupting order, inciting people to demonstrate and organize protests at Mazandaran University. Six months later he was arrested again for the actions against national security.
Following the 2009 election, when he was an active member of Midi Karrabul reform Abdul’s campaign headquarters, he was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence and severely beaten by the security forces, lost consciousness for three days.
He was previously banned by the Intelligence Ministry of continuing his studies because of his student activism.
